What's new in PadelDropIn 1.0.28: Bronze, Silver and Gold tournaments, men's, women's and mixed draws, tournament rankings, friend profiles and reminders.
You signed up for a club tournament and drew a pair two levels above you in the first round. Twenty minutes later it was over, and you went home without a single good point to remember. Tournaments like that are exactly why PadelDropIn 1.0.28 adds tournament tiers, categories and a leaderboard that shows who has won what.
Short answer: PadelDropIn 1.0.28 brings Bronze, Silver and Gold tournament tiers, men's, women's and mixed draws, junior and senior age groups, one leaderboard you can view by level or by tournament, an automatic knockout draw and more precise level changes. It also adds sparring under Lessons, friend profiles, the PadelDropIn Card for Supporters, reminders and password reset with an email code.

Bronze, Silver and Gold tournament tiers
Organisers can now give a tournament a tier. The tier decides which levels can enter and how many points the tournament is worth.
| Tier | Who can play | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | level up to 2.50 (2.51–3.00 with the organiser's approval) | ×1 |
| Silver | level up to 4.50 | ×2 |
| Gold | level above 4.50 | ×4 |
Two rules worth knowing before you enter:
- A pair plays in the tier of its stronger player. If you're at 2.40 and your partner is at 3.60, you enter as a Silver pair.
- Winning moves you up. Both winners of a tournament move up one tier, so after a title they play a stronger event.
How to use it: in the Tournaments tab, a tournament the organiser has given a tier shows its tier and category, for example "Silver, men only". Check that your pair fits the tier, sign up, and pay the entry fee at the club, as before.

Men's, women's and mixed draws, plus age groups
A tournament now also has a category: Men's, Women's or Mixed. Mixed is open to men, women and mixed pairs.
There are also age groups: juniors from U8 to U18 and seniors +40, +50 and +60. The group is based on your birth year, which you enter once and which is never shown to other players.
How to use it: gender is now required on every profile, because it's needed to enter men's and women's tournaments.
One leaderboard: by level and by tournament
Level and tournament results now live in one place. On the Leaderboard you switch between "By level" and "By tournament".
Tournament points work like this:
- winner: 100
- final: 55
- semi-final: 35
- quarter-final: 20
- group stage: 10
Silver tournaments are worth double points and Gold four times as much. Your best 8 results in the last 52 weeks count, so one bad weekend doesn't sink a season and old results drop off over time.
The knockout draws itself
After the group stage, now also when a tournament has 5 to 8 groups, the knockout is drawn automatically. The knockout tab opens once all group scores are in, so as soon as the last group result is entered everyone knows who plays whom next.
More precise level changes
Your level is now rated by parts of the match, with a cap on how much it can move in a single match. In short:
- competitive matches count, friendlies don't;
- new players can move up as much as 0.20 per match;
- from 4.0 upwards, changes are smaller.

Sparring under Lessons
The Lessons tab now includes sparring. Sparring isn't rated and is paid directly to your partner at the court. How to arrange it and when it makes sense is covered in padel sparring: how to find a training partner.
Friend profiles
Got a friend who plays with you but doesn't have the app? You can now create a profile for them and sign them up yourself.
How to use it:
- Go to Profile → Juniors & friends → Add account + and choose Friend.
- Enter their name, gender, starting level and phone number (required).
- Confirm "My friend knows I am creating this profile and agrees."
- When you join an open match, lesson or event, pick your friend at the "Who is joining?" step.

You can have up to 5 active friends. Notifications about your friend come to you. Friend profiles don't appear in player search or on leaderboards and can't be messaged, and their level is rated just like anyone else's.
The PadelDropIn Card for Supporters
The PadelDropIn Card is a player card you can share: level, rating, card tier, photo and six stats — Wins, Form, Experience, Activity, Reliability and Tournaments. The "Share card" button sends it as an image.
The card is available to Supporters. Supporter status is an optional in-app tip that supports the app, and you don't need it for anything else in this article.
Reminders and password reset
Reminders: the app reminds you 24 hours and 2 hours before lessons, sparring and tournaments.
Password reset with an email code:
- On the email sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?".
- Enter your email and tap "Send code".
- Type in the code from the email, or open the email link on the same phone.
- Set a new password (at least 6 characters, with upper and lower case and a digit) and tap "Save password".
After the change you're signed out on your other devices.
